Lovely Lashes!

One of my coveted finds from IMATS a few weeks ago were these beautiful false lashes from Velour.  They last for up to 20 to 25 wears assuming you treat them right and clean them after each use.  I must admit, it's going to take some practice figuring out how to effortlessly put these on, but well worth it as the result is natural and sooooo flattering!
I got their most popular pair called Strike a Pose.

They are perfectly packaged in their own little box for safe keeping.

Widens the eye a ton!  LOVE!

For more amazing information including video tutorials (as I am not quite ready to give my own!) and how you can purchase your very own pair, visit their site at http://www.velourlashes.com/

Girl's Night!

I have a recently discovered new place for a night out with the girls... POP Champagne and Dessert Bar located in Old Town Pasadena.  It's the perfect excuse to get dressed up and transport yourself to a little bistro in Paris.  The decor is classic French with grande chandeliers overhead and the menu is just amazing!  I have to say I was just planning on a little bubbly and some sweet treats, but one look at all their offerings had me veering off in another direction.  HINT - must do a cheese plate and the heirloom tomato basil bruschetta to start!

And since it was a bit of a girly night, I chose the Pretty in Pink sparkling wine flight... My favorite was from Germany... Slightly sweet and rosey.

A little peek at the outfit - Shoes Ralph Lauren and clutch vintage.

Let's go, Ladies!

Stay-Cation Bliss

Summertime living has arrived in full force here in sunny LA and the need to relax by the water and getaway from the normal crazy routine was a definite must.  With just a few days available to relax and rejuvenate we decided to avoid the frustrating trip to the airport or spend too long in the car.  This way every spare moment possible could be enjoyed.

We packed up a small suitcase and off we went to a gorgeous local resort, The Langham Pasadena which was complete with a sparkling pool, vacation style beverages and 24 hr. room service!  It was a couple days of lounging in the sun and spending carefree nights enjoying delicious bites & perfectly mixed libations in there Tap Room bar.

Pick a perfect place near you and escape for a day or two!

Comic Con 2012

Vulcan's, Vader's & Vamp's - OH MY!  Yes, this year's show was yet again full of costume characters (some good and some... well, ya know...) star sightings & super fans all there to play a part in the four day's that makes up the world's largest comic, horror & "anything goes" convention in San Diego's downtown area.

I had some major highlights from the week... Need I say more than The Hoff!

Here we are complete with the KITT car from Knight Rider!!

Let's Not forget about some of the Red Carpet Fashion!

Clockwise:  1)  Kerry Washington attended for her new film with Quentin Tarantino, Django Unchained  2)  Jessica Biel with Kate Beckinsale & Colin Farrell for Total Recall  3)  Mila Kunis for a few Disney projects including "OZ" 4)  Michelle Williams for "OZ"  5) Nina Dobrev with Vampire Diaries

And here's a little montage of some of my favorite peeks into the show:

Major Summer Shoe Find

A month or so ago I posted a picture of a pair of gorgeous Bettye Muller espadrilles on the Major Baggage Facebook page that were offered for a limited time on Gilt.com.  Of course they sold out of my size right away!  They were on sale for $140 down from over $200 and I was so bummed I missed the opportunity to own them... They were the perfect Summer shoe!!

WELL!  On a recent trip through DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) I was skimming through the clearance section and came across a pretty much EXACT match in style with a slightly shimmery zebra pattern and maybe a bit of a lower wedge, but other than that - PERFECT!   Did I mention these were $35!!!

Never discount the clearance section!  And I make it rule to not judge the shoe from looking in the box... Try them on and maybe go a bit out of your comfort zone.  I find that those purchases are the ones I get the most compliments on.  Can't wait to try these with a blue checkered button up and a crisp, white linen skirt!

And just so you can see the comparison as I know some of you loved the Bettye Muller's as well...

C'mon - how close is this!!  And I really think I like the texture and pattern of the zebra print a bit more...

Save your hard earned cash and enjoy the search for similarities!
Major gratification.

As American as Apple Pie

While most of the USA was celebrating the 4th of July with BBQ and baked goods, we were introduced to another classic, but with a major enhancement... The Dorito shelled taco from Taco Bell!!  I know, I know - BUT HAVE YOU TRIED THIS??  Fast food for me is pretty much a guilty pleasure and I avoid it as much a I can, but a taco supreme is so delicious on it's own doused in hot sauce and then the marketing geniuses partnered with Frito Lay and replaced their basic shell with a Dorito shell... Need I say more?

OK -  I'm going to stop thinking about it now before I head to the drive thru :)

Old Navy lightweight camp shirt and patterned twill shorts (little sailboats... these are SO cute!)
J Crew sailor shorts & jumbo brulee necklace and Madewell denim shirt
Bargain hunting by day... Fireworks by night - Have a wonderful 4th of July!!

Shoe Case

It was finally time to take serious stock and organize my shoes.  Gone are the days of hanging shoe compartments in the closet and piles near the front door! I wanted to be able to see what I have and have an easy way to be diligent in putting them in their place at the end of the day, so I went with a basic, white bookcase from Ikea that happens to look quite good in my office!  Of course, I have dreams of a glorious walk in closet filled with beautiful shelving, perfect lighting and a luxurious chaise lounge with which to gaze at all my collections, but for now I am perfectly content with this inexpensive option.
It was fun to come across a few pairs I really have not seen for years and still love & at the same time gave me the opportunity to toss many that needed to go (I should have snapped a few pics for a good laugh!).  Oh!  Did I mention the new found space in my closet with which to hang things...
From Ikea - It's the Billy bookshelf in white for only $59.99 (click HERE for more info.)

Fits four pairs per shelf perfectly - total of 32 :)  I had to put some on the way top, too.  You can also purchase additional shelves to make more room.  I bought two more than it came with and definitely didn't regret it.

Come Fall I'll need to figure out where to put all my boots!
